What a unique active lifestyle village! I love this concept, purpose built for the travelling lifestyle and the garages are really huge to fit everything in!

Another problem we have seen with other retirement villages is they can look pretty ordinary after a few years if the inhabitants are given free reign with what they can do with their homes. While some people may like to fill their yard with rusting cars and have chooks running everywhere others may not. The rules in place at RVHomebase are designed to keep the homes looking as good in 20 years time as they do now, to me this is a big plus. Some of the homes we saw had small veggie gardens and fruit trees growing, all very well maintained. Dogs are allowed but must be controlled.

The standard of construction is also very good. Brick construction can not be used because the guidelines for this kind of complex states the dwellings must be removable but this is a legal requirement only, the homes are very well constructed and are going nowhere.

This complex is by far the best we have seen and the prices seem very reasonable, in fact they seem like a real bargain so there must be a catch. To us the catch is the location. We have no problems with the title set up and if the complex was where we now live on the NSW Mid Nth Coast we would have signed up on the spot. The reality is that if it was near us it would be close to twice the price, the land values near here are just too high to make this sort of complex viable.

One of the main gripes we have had with other retirement complexes is the small footprint allocated to each home, this is not the case at RVHomebase. Each home has a nature reserve adjoining it or looks out over parkland to the two dams on the property, the homes per acre are by far the lowest we have come across.

Maryborough is a nice enough town but 30km from the ocean is just too far for us. We both love the water and are only 1km from the beach where we now live. The only other negative with the complex is that there is a speedway track adjacent to it which would be noisy once a month or so, not a deal breaker for me as we would probably attend occasionally for something different.

They say life is a compromise and in this case they are right, if the location is OK with you then this place is definitely worth checking out.

We visited this amazing resort today and had an excellent presentation and tour by Anna on the complex. We visited 3 resorts in 2 days and RV Homebase won by a country mile, thank you Anna

The entertainment areas are more in tune with a holiday resort than a retirement village, swimming pools, games room, gymnasium, BBQ areas and tennis court are just some of the "extras" you get for living there.

My wife and I were shown over this complex a few days ago by Kevin and were very impressed. We have visited many different retirement style villages but this was the first one that has been specifically designed for RV owners and those that like to travel frequently.
